Writing is hard enough as it is for some people. I am definitely one of them. So many distractions on top of one another that when you find a moment to sit down and write something, you find yourself not sighing in relief, but wondering if you forgot to do something or if your kids are like mine, "Why are they so quiet?"
Here's some strategies I try to do to write or study so I'm not distracted and can really focus.
1. Get the major daily tasks taken care of first so you don't think about them later.
2. Find a quiet room, area, or even go outside away from everyone.
3. Use the bathroom before you start!
4. Grab a healthy snack and drink to have to keep the creative juices flowing. My fave is Greek yogurt with granola and Dr. Pepper. Soda is probably not healthy but it is oh so good.
5. Keep away from phones and TV.
6. Sit up right and don't slouch. If you get too comfy your body might think you need a nap.
I'm going to be trying these things and may have to tweak the list if I think of something better. Feel free to add your thoughts and ideas you have that might work.
